Voices of America - eBook Background Music

Purchase eBook - Print - Audiobook (with music)

How to Enjoy the Background Music While Reading

Thank you for purchasing this eBook.

This book includes optional background music designed to enhance your reading experience. The music was created to support the mood, emotion, and atmosphere of selected chapters or scenes.

You do not have to listen to the music to enjoy the book. The story stands on its own. The music is simply an added experience for readers who would like to feel more deeply connected to the world, characters, and emotions of the story.

How to Use the Music

When you come across a music link in the eBook, you may tap or click the link to open the background music for that chapter or section.

For the best experience:

  1. Tap the music link before you begin reading the chapter or scene.

  2. Start the music.

  3. Lower the volume so it stays softly in the background.

  4. Return to the eBook.

  5. Begin reading at your own pace.

The music is meant to sit behind the words, not compete with them. If the music feels too loud, lower the volume until it becomes part of the atmosphere.

A Few Helpful Tips

For a richer experience, headphones or earbuds may help you hear the music more clearly, especially if you are reading in a quiet space.

If you are reading on a phone or tablet, you may need to switch between the music player and your eBook app. Once the music is playing, return to the eBook and continue reading.

If a link opens in a browser, simply start the music from there, then return to your eBook.

If you prefer silence while reading, that is perfectly fine. The music is optional and can be skipped at any time.

Reading at Your Own Pace

Every reader reads differently. Some may finish a chapter before the music ends. Others may read more slowly and want to restart the track. There is no wrong way to use it.

You may pause, replay, skip, or ignore the music whenever you wish.

The purpose is not to control how you read. It is to give you another way to experience the story.

Enjoy the Journey

Books invite us to imagine. Music helps us feel.

Together, they can create a deeper, more personal reading experience — one where the words, emotions, and atmosphere stay with you long after the chapter ends.

Enjoy the story. Enjoy the music. And most of all, enjoy the journey.

Voices of America

Voices of America: Stories of a Nation in Reflection

Purchase eBook - Print - Audiobook (with music)

Created for America’s 250th birthday, Voices of America is a compelling anthology of short stories about survival, sacrifice, identity, empathy, and resilience in modern America.

Rather than offering a simple celebration of the nation, this collection reflects the deeper truth of American life: its contradictions, its burdens, its courage, and its enduring hope. Through stories of working people, divided communities, cultural memory, personal struggle, and hard-won dignity, Voices of America captures the emotional realities behind the headlines and the humanity behind the ideals.

This is an anthology for readers who believe America is not defined by slogans, but by the voices of the people still living its promise—and its failures—every day.

Book Review:

Voices of America is a socially engaged anthology that asks what citizenship, belonging, and responsibility look like in contemporary America, then answers through a wide range of intimate, grounded stories. The collection includes veterans carrying trauma after patriotic spectacle, Black parents teaching sons how to survive suspicion, disabled workers negotiating dignity in a productivity culture, immigrant families building lives under the pressure of paperwork, and parents trying to explain school lockdown drills to children who already understand too much.

The book’s greatest strength is its human scale. Even when the subject is systemic failure, the storytelling stays rooted in character, scene, and voice. “After the Fireworks,” “Sunday Suit, Monday Steel-Toes,” “Apartment 3B, No Mailbox Key,” “The Neighborhood App,” and “Lockdown Drill Tuesday” are especially effective at showing how national problems become private burdens without turning their characters into symbols.

The prose is thoughtful and accessible, with a literary sensibility that favors reflection over melodrama. Readers who like contemporary issue-driven fiction, civic themes, and emotionally observant storytelling will find a lot to admire here. Readers looking for lighter fare or sharply plot-driven stories may find the anthology heavy in tone and consistent in its moral seriousness.

As a whole, Voices of America is a strong anthology with a clear purpose and a humane eye. It works best for readers who want fiction that treats American life not as branding, but as a contested, daily practice shaped by labor, fear, endurance, and care. - True Voice Review

The Big Twist: A Queer Myth of Eden

Click here to listen to a sample chapter from the audiobook

Purchase eBook - Paper - Audiobook (with Music)

A good Christian boy sits in church, listening to a sermon that tells him people like him are outside God's design. Then he looks up.

Above the preacher, glowing in stained glass, is Eden - but not the Eden he was taught. Adam is there. Eve is there. And standing radiant in the Garden is Elior, God's forgotten third creation: beautiful, joyful, unashamed, and created before shame ever entered the world.

The Big Twist is a bold, mythic reimagining of the Adam and Eve story that asks a dangerous and healing question: What if queerness was never the fall - what if hatred was?

Created by God not as Adam's lover, not as Eve's rival, and not as a mistake, Elior brings beauty, laughter, emotional truth, and sacred difference into Eden. But when the serpent twists curiosity into distrust, and the apple awakens shame, Adam and Eve begin to see everything differently - their bodies, each other, God, and Elior.

What follows is a powerful story of creation, shame, exile, remembrance, and divine love. The Big Twist challenges the idea that difference is sin and returns readers to a deeper truth: love was older than shame, and hatred came after.

For readers of mythic fiction, LGBTQ+ spiritual fiction, biblical reimaginings, and stories that confront religious shame with courage and beauty, The Big Twist offers a moving, provocative, and unforgettable new vision of Eden.

Review - First book to receive a 5 out of 5 Book Rating from True Voice Review

The Big Twist: A Queer Myth of Eden is a lyrical and emotionally intelligent reimagining of the creation story, centered on Elior, a third human whose name means "God is my light." Elior is created not as a mistake, temptation, or rival, but as another sacred expression of love, beauty, wit, emotional truth, and difference. Through him, Eden becomes more than a place of innocence; it becomes a world learning how to see.

The novella's voice is one of its strongest assets. It combines mythic seriousness with sharp, charming humor, especially in Adam's literal-mindedness and Elior's graceful teasing. That lightness gives the later arrival of shame greater impact. The serpent's role as a manipulator of comparison and division gives the familiar fall narrative a fresh emotional and theological charge.

This is not a traditional retelling, and readers looking for conventional biblical fiction may find its queer-affirming reinterpretation challenging. Its pace is reflective and theme-forward, with more emphasis on meaning, identity, and emotional revelation than on external action. For readers open to literary myth, LGBTQ+ spiritual fiction, and bold sacred reimaginings, however, The Big Twist is thoughtful, moving, and memorable. - True Voice Review
